One of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Table Mountain was a highlight of my first trip to Cape Town in 2018. The cable car ride to the top is already an experience in itself, and once you reach the summit you're rewarded with breathtaking views over Cape Town and the Atlantic Ocean. It's definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Camps Bay, Cape Town, South Africa
Camps Bay has one of the most famous beaches in Cape Town. From here you can see the beautiful so-called "model beach" with the Twelve Apostles mountain range in the background. The area is perfect for a stay, with great restaurants, bars and everything you need within walking distance.

Stony Point, Betty's Bay, South Africa
It is home to one of the largest colonies of African penguins in South Africa. You can walk through the reserve and observe the penguins and other seabirds in their natural habitat. It is quieter and less crowded than Boulders Beach, which makes it a good alternative, especially if you are driving the famous Garden Route.

It is famous for its colony of African penguins. A wooden boardwalk allows visitors to walk through the area and observe the penguins up close in their natural habitat. It’s a really special experience.

Cape Point, South Africa
Driving down the Cape Peninsula with a rental car was one of the highlights of my trip to Cape Town in 2018. The road to Cape Point offers incredible coastal views and wild natural scenery along the way. After reaching the top near the lighthouse, I was rewarded with breathtaking views of the steep cliffs and the endless ocean below

Cape of Good Hope, South Africa
Visiting the Cape of Good Hope was another highlight of my trip to Cape Town in 2018. Located in the beautiful Table Mountain National Park, the area is known for its dramatic coastline and unspoiled nature. Driving through the park with a rental car was an amazing experience, with stunning ocean views and wildlife along the road. Standing at the famous sign marking the Cape of Good Hope felt like a special moment and is definitely something I would recommend to anyone visiting the region.

Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa
The charming town of Stellenbosch is one of my favourite places in the world. I got to know the town very well while studying at Stellenbosch University. With its beautiful oak-lined streets, historic Cape Dutch architecture and relaxed atmosphere, the town has a very special charm.

Stellenbosch Town Hall, South Africa
The historic Stellenbosch Town Hall is located in the heart of Stellenbosch. Built in the early 20th century, the building is one of the town’s architectural landmarks. I passed it many times while studying here, and it’s a great example of the historic charm that makes Stellenbosch such a special place.

Wilderness, Western Cape, South Africa
The small coastal town of Wilderness is a great stop along the famous Garden Route. I visited it during a trip in 2019 and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful natural surroundings. With its long sandy beach, nearby lakes and lush green hills, Wilderness is the perfect place to take a break from driving and enjoy the scenery. It’s definitely a stop I would recommend to anyone exploring the Garden Route.

Pub Street, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Pub Street is an absolute must visit for anyone who loves nightlife. I spent a couple of nights there during my Asia trip in 2024 and the street was always buzzing with bars, restaurants and neon lights. It is perfect for staying out late, enjoying drinks and meeting fellow travellers a highlight of Siem Reap for anyone looking for a fun night out.

Ankor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat was the highlight of my Angkor day tour. I was picked up early in the morning by my tuk tuk, which was a bit of a shock at first, but it was absolutely worth it. The view as the sun rises behind the temple is unforgettable and a must see for anyone visiting Siem Reap.

Luang Prabang, Laos
The view over Luang Prabang from Phou Si Hill was unforgettable. I visited during my Laos road trip in 2024 and took the train from Vientiane up to the city. The view from above is amazing, and the whole experience is something I can absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

Vientiane, Laos
Vientiane is a very special capital city, very different from Bangkok or Hanoi. It feels more relaxed and family friendly, with a unique charm. I spent a few days there and can definitely recommend a visit, especially if you are there during Songkran, which is a lot of fun.

Fort Santiago, Manila, Philippines
Intramuros, the historic center of Manila, is definitely worth a visit. I went there during my trip, although the weather was not great. If you are planning to go, try to pick a day when it isn’t raining so you can fully enjoy the streets, old buildings, and the unique atmosphere of this part of the city.

Sala Keo Kou, Nong Khai, Thailand
Nong Khai is a great spot in northern Thailand that often gets overlooked by travellers heading to the south. I spent some time working there and loved the area it feels very family friendly, quiet and authentic with almost no tourists. If you want a true Thailand experience, Nong Khai is definitely worth a visit.

Chiang Khan, Province Loei, Thailand
Chiang Khan is a very cool small town in the northwest of Thailand. It is popular with Thai tourists but not many backpackers visit. It is not easy to reach from Nong Khai, and the best way to get there is by car. The town has a relaxed atmosphere and is definitely worth a stop if you are exploring northern Thailand.

Maya Beach, Krabi Province, Thailand
Maya Beach is probably the most famous beach in Thailand, known for being the filming location of The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio. If you are in the region it is a must see, but be prepared for crowds as it can be very busy with many tourists. Despite that, the scenery is stunning and it is worth visiting at least once.

Wat Pho Temple, Bangkok, Thailand
Wat Pho is an amazing temple to visit in Bangkok. If you have to pay an entrance fee for any temple, this is the one worth it. The architecture, the giant reclining Buddha, and the atmosphere make it a very memorable experience.

Hanoi Old Quarter, Vietnam
Hanoi Old Quarter is the place for tourists in Hanoi and definitely a must see. If it is your first time there it can feel a bit chaotic, but the vibe with the beer street and all the shops and street life is amazing.

Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi, Vietnam
Hoan Kiem Lake is a beautiful and peaceful spot in the middle of Hanoi. I enjoyed walking around the lake during my visit and watching locals exercise, relax, and enjoy the scenery. It is definitely a must see and a nice break from the busy streets of the Old Quarter.

Hanoi Train Street, Vietnam
Hanoi Train Street is a very unique spot in Hanoi where the train passes right between the houses. I visited during my trip and loved the atmosphere with locals and cafes lining the tracks. It is a must see for anyone looking for something unusual and memorable in the city.

Tam Coc, Ninh Binh, Vietnam
Tam Coc is a small town I spent almost two months in and got to know very well. It is quite touristy with many backpackers, but the vibe is amazing with karaoke buses, shops, massages and restaurants everywhere. It is a really fun and lively place to stay and explore the surrounding countryside.

Hang Múa, Ninh Binh, Vietnam
Hang Múa is very cool and a must visit if you are in Tam Coc or Ninh Binh city. Climbing the steps to the top is definitely worth the effort for the amazing views over the rice fields and surrounding mountains.

Ha Long Bay, Ha Long, Vietnam
Ha Long Bay is another natural wonder that is absolutely worth visiting. I took a boat tour and enjoyed the incredible views of the limestone islands and emerald water. It is an unforgettable experience and a highlight of northern Vietnam.

Hallstatt, Upper Austria, Austria
Hallstatt is a beautiful town I visited in 2021. The village by the lake has so much to offer and is definitely worth a visit. It is a top photo spot in summer, though it can be very touristy. The scenery is stunning and makes Hallstatt a must see in Austria.
